Unforgiveness Hurts

READ:  Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Forgiveness is a HUGE subject.  The Bible tells us that we must forgive others.  It's very hard to do when someone hurts us, isn't it?

Unforgiveness can hurt us more than it hurts the other person.

A few years ago I was helping one of our elderly friends with a yard sale.  There was a lady who came to shop.  She began to tell us how she was so messed up in her back from a car accident.  I love to pray for others and wanted to pray for her, but in my spirit I knew that it would be no use. The further she went in telling me her problem, the more angry she became at the man who hit her. I mean there was a great amount of unforgiveness inside of her.  This unforgiveness that she carried was robbing her of receiving all that Jesus had for her.   The unforgiveness that she carried had turned into pure bitterness.

I sadly watched her walk away - knowing that she would not be set free from her pain physically, until she had let go of her bitterness and unforgiveness that she carried in her heart.

Is there someone that you need to forgive?  The Bible tells us that if we refuse to forgive others, that our Heavenly Father will not forgive us.  That makes unforgiveness dangerous.

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14, 15.

Dear Jesus,  thank you for showing me today that I need to forgive.   Please help me to forgive others, truly forgive them, when they do something against me.  I release ____________ (name of person) now from any offense in the mighty Name of Jesus.  I pray your supernatural blessings over _______ (name of person).
