Do You Have Tunnel Vision?

READ:  Matthew 6:22-24 Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body.  When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light.  But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness.  And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!   No one can serve two masters.  For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted tone and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and money.

Tunnel vision is the loss of peripheral vision with retention of central vision, resulting in a constricted circular tunnel-like field of vision.   It is caused by alcohol use, drug use, extreme worry or fear, surges of high adrenaline, mercury poisioning, and a few other things too!     It would be difficult to live with this tunnel vision.

In the book of Matthew, chapter 6, I believe that is what Jesus is telling us as Christians to have - TUNNEL VISION.  He is telling us to keep our eyes on things of the Kingdom of God.   Keep our eyes focused on spiritual things.  In the world that we live in - it is very easy to get ourselves looking at other things.... worldly things.   We live in a day and age where there is really just so much to entice us in and then keep us there.  Jesus pointed out that the love of money was one of those things that will keep us from being Totally Devoted to God. When we don't have spiritual tunnel vision, we just don't grow spiritually.  We stay stagnant and stagnant Christians are of no worry to satan and his world.

Personal question to ask yourself today and think upon:   Do I have spiritual tunnel vision?   Am I focused on Heavenly things or worldly things?

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2
