No Greater Love

READ:   Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  John 15:13

We just celebrated Veterans Day and when I think of the brave men and women who willingly laid down their lives for us to enjoy the freedoms that we have today - I always think of this verse (John 15:13).  Our lives today would look VERY different if it hadn't been for them.

There is someone else who willing laid down His life for us - that's Jesus.   He asked the Father three times in the Garden of Gethsemane if it could be a different way.   But the way was clear.  Jesus purpose had come full circle and it was time to fulfill and complete the mission.

Most of us have seen the movie - Passion of Christ (released in 2004).  I have a very hard time even watching the scenes of what My Lord and Savior endured.  However, I am well away that that is Hollywood - and the real crucifixion and time leading up to it would have been much worse.

What Jesus did - the pain, agony, scourging, beatings, and death - it was for YOU and for me.   He could have called thousands upon thousands of angels to come, take Him off the cross, and minister to Him.   But His love for us  runs far deeper than we can fathom in our human minds.   He paid the price for our sin.  He took our penalty and our shame upon Himself and bore it so that we don't need to.

Jesus willingly laid His life down for YOU!

Jesus loves you so much!!!  If you are reading this and you haven't yet given your heart fully to Him - know that He  LOVES you  beyond measure.   A high price was paid for your soul and that little tug that you feel - or maybe it's a large pull -  that's Him drawing you to come to Him.    Now is the time to surrender your heart to Him.     (Please contact me below and I will pray with you).

Maybe you've already given your heart to Jesus - maybe you have accepted Him as Savior of your life, but you haven't quite surrendered a certain area of your life over to Him. Your still holding some reins - give it all to THE ONE who gave His all for you.   He loves you so much - you can trust Him with every area of your life.
