READ: Psalm 107:13-16 "Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains. Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. For he broke down their prison gates of bronze; he cut apart their bars of iron.
I absolutely LOVE the story in Mark 5.... Jesus climbs out of a boat and a man with an evil spirit come out of the tombs to meet him. This man was possessed by demons so badly that even chains couldn't constrain him. He would snap the chains from his wrists and ankles with great strength. He would wander around day and night in the burial tombs, naked, howling, and cutting himself with sharp stones.
Jesus asked the man what his name was and he replied, "Legion, because there are MANY of us inside this man". The demons then begged Jesus not to send them back to satan but to send them into the herd of 2,000 pigs. Jesus gave them permission and they entered the pigs and plunged down a steep hillside and drowned in a body of water.
As people came to see the commotion - they found the man who was insane sitting there fully clothed and PERFECTLY SANE!
When Jesus went to leave - the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus told him to go home to his family and tell them everything the Lord had done for him. So the man set out to proclaim the great things that Jesus had done for him.
When we have a problem and are BOUND by it - Jesus is the one who can SET US FREE. He is a chain breaker - just like he was for the demon possessed man. The demons did not stand a chance against Jesus and neither do the problems you are bound by. With Jesus - chains are broken - it doesn't matter how many or how long you've been bound - with JESUS THEY BREAK OPEN and YOU ARE FREE!
What are you bound by? Nothing - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - is too hard for Jesus to set you free from. He will deliver you - but you have to ask Him to. The demon possessed man in Mark - CAME OUT TO MEET JESUS. You need to do that too - you need to make the move to turn to him and ASK him for help.
