Come Follow Me

READ:   Mark 1:17-18 Jesus called out to them, "Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!  And they left their nets at once and followed him.

One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee he saw two men, Simon and his brother, Andrew.  They were fishermen - that is how they made their living.  Jesus called out to them,"Come follow me," and they immediately left their nets and followed Jesus.

Jesus was asking these men to FOLLOW HIM.    These men were not following a religion.  They were following JESUS.    Jesus was with them day in, and day out.  They ate with him, walked with him, talked with him and spent their lives with Him.    Jesus asks the same from you.  He asks you to be a FOLLOWER of Him.    We can't walk with him in the present physical sense today... so what does it mean to FOLLOW Him today?    Following Jesus today means putting Him FIRST.   Your life in a sense is to revolve around Jesus Christ.  He becomes the Lord and Master of your life and you place your trust in Him - that is FOLLOWING JESUS.

Jesus said another phrase to Simon and Andrew.  He said, "I will make you fishers of men".    Simon and Andrew were used to fishing - that was their profession.  But Jesus was going to change what they did.  He was going to make them into disciples who reach other people.   Jesus wants to change you too.  As a follower of Jesus  - He will place inside of you a desire to see other people come to salvation in Him.   He will also change the way you think, the hobbies you enjoy, and the things you do.   He will put new dreams, desires and priorities inside of you.   He makes you into the person that He designed you to be!!

Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men. (Jesus)

Do you know Jesus personally?  If you don't - but would like to, please contact me, and I will pray with you.  He is calling to you - "COME FOLLOW ME" -- will you drop everything just like Simon and Andrew did and allow Him to change you as He desires?     He's calling, "Come Follow Me....."
