READ: Esther 4:13-14 "Don't think for a moment that because you're in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?"
The story of Esther is such a beautiful picture of God's provision and protection over His people. Nations coming against Isreal has never changed as even all these years later we can see in the present day news. However, we can KNOW that God will ALWAYS be on the side of His Jewish people (and as follows of Christ - we should be too).
Esther was a BEAUTIFUL Jewish girl who was raised by her cousin, Mordecai. When the King was in search for a new Queen, every young virgin girl was presented to him to see which he would choose to be Queen. Esther had to be quite lovely because she won the crown of Queen.
There was a rather wicked man, Haman, who worked for the King. The King promoted him to being the most powerful official in the empire. All the other officials were to bow down before him. But Mordecai refused to bow down to him. When Haman saw that Mordecai would not bow down he became filled with rage. He learned that Mordecai was a Jew and decided to not just take revenge on Mordecai but on the entire Jews that lived in the region. He got the King to issue a decree that all the Jews - young and old, including women and children - must be killed, slaughtered and annihilated on a single day (March 7 of the following year).
Mordecai wrote to his cousin, Queen Esther, to plead for her help. As this beautiful story continues Queen Esther, in great bravery, came before the King to ask that her life and the lives of her people be spared. The story continues that the King had Haman killed and the Jews were spared and even given power to have victory against their enemies.
If Queen Esther had just sat back and kept quiet about being a fellow Jew - this story would have ended much differently. She could have said, "I can't be bothered or risk my own life". Instead she became a hero and saved her nation.
Where has God placed you? You may not be Queen of a nation, but God has you placed where you are right now FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS. You may be the only Christian living on your block, or the only Christian in your workplace. I believe that nothing happens in life by accident. Who you run onto each day is someone you are to touch for Jesus.
Will you stay hidden or will you take a stand for Him?
Let it be known that you are a child of the King of Kings! Live as if He is your Father! Be a hero to someone that you can lead into the Family of God.
