Read: Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber or sleep. The Lord watches over you - the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Recently while on vacation I observed a father and son. The dear little boy was trying very hard to play with other children around the resort swimming pool, but the children obviously didn't want to be near him. The father was trying desperately to play with his son and take his attention off of wanting to join the other children. I found out that his son had a severe speech disorder and the father had overheard the children making fun of his son. He was trying to protect him from further hurt.
Watching this father and son reminded me of my Heavenly Father. How many times in our lives has God protected us? Too many to count, and many times that we don't even realize! As a child of God we can know beyond a shadow of doubt that our Father protects us. Psalm 121 says that He will keep us from all harm and watch over our lives. Furthermore, it says He will watch over us FOREVERMORE.
Prayer: Thank you Father, for watching over me and caring for me everyday.
