READ: Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
There is a popular phrase that likes to surface at times in the Christian community and that is: "God won't give you more than you can handle". This is actually taken from the scripture passage: 1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
This scripture is taken out of context when it is talking about God not placing on you more than you can handle. The real meaning behind this scripture is that God is faithful and when you are tempted - He will provide a way OUT of that temptation. He is faithful to his children and will make a way for them to step of out the tempting situation without falling to sin.
Actually there are MANY things that we face in life where we just aren't strong enough. We are never promised as Christians that we will live in Easy Street after we receive Him as Lord and Savior of our lives. On the contrary - we are told in John 16:33 In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
The truth is - we WILL face problems and we WILL be too weak to handle them. But in Jesus we receive strength - and His Strength is PERFECT.
Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
