READ: Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
Fears - they can be present in our lives and sometimes we just learn to live with them. I overheard two older ladies talking the other day and the one was telling the other how she has fears that are unjustified. The fearful lady said, "I don't know what you mean, like what am I fearful of"? The other lady said, "well you won't go on a cruise because you are afraid the ship will sink and that is a ridiculous fear". I thought these two were going to get into a fight. I ended up saying outloud - 'tell that to the people who rode on the Titanic".
Fears are a very REAL thing in peoples lives and shouldn't be diminished. They can cripple someone. But if you or a loved one is suffering from FEAR - the answer to this problem is Jesus. He is the only ONE who can take away fears - even real justified fears.
I know for myself I was in a car accident back in 2005. I was injured with torn muscles and a contused kidney - shutting my colon down into an ileus (inability to work or obstruction). Because I carried the pain of muscle tears with me for a very long time, I became somewhat fearful in a car. I still to this day prefer to drive rather than be a passenger, because it makes me feel more in control. But it took me several years and lots of prayers to eventually let go of that FEAR that seemed to make me squeeze the steering wheel tight and get sweaty palms when a car came at me from the left.
I have come to understand in my life that FEAR is the oppositive of FAITH. When we allow ourselves to actually live and stay in a state of FEAR - we are saying that we have more faith in satan than we do in Jesus. We are saying that Jesus can't outdo the enemy. And we know that is just plain ridiculous - because Jesus is the GREATEST :)
Today God is saying: Dear Child - I want you to choose To Walk In FAITH instead of Fear. I will help you, turn to me, and let me cast your fears as far as the east is from the west. I will fill you with the kind of faith that will move mountains. Why would I do this - because I love you that much and you are mine. <3
