God Can Use You

READ:   1 Corinthians 1:28 God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.

Do you ever feel like you are not good enough, worthy enough, or qualified enough for God to use?    Boy - let me tell you, I struggle with that A LOT!      I found this a long time ago and wanted to share it with you all today.

  • Abraham lied. Sarah laughed at God's promises.
  • Moses stuttered.
  • David's armor didn't fit.
  • Hosea's wife was a prostitute.
  • Jacob was a liar.
  • David had an affair and was a murderer.
  • Jesus was too poor.
  • Abraham was to old.
  • David was too young.
  • Peter was afraid of death.
  • Naomi was a widow.
  • Paul was a murderer.
  • So was Moses.
  • Jonah ran from God.
  • Miriam was a gossip.
  • Gideon and Thomas both doubted.
  • Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.
  • Martha was a worry-wort.
  • Mary may have been lazy.
  • Noah got drunk.

When God looks at us and picks us - He doesn't do it because we are qualified, important, or trained.  This is how the world would choose someone.   Remember when Samuel was sent to  anoint the next King of Israel?  He went to Bethlehem to find the sons of Jesse and anoint one.    When he (Samuel) saw the looks of Eliab, he thought, "Surely this is the Lord's anointed!  But the Lord said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him.  The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them.   People judge by the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

All thoughout the Bible God picked those who were the inferior, untrained, and even ones who sometimes looked like failures to the world's eyes and God did AMAZING THINGS through them!

If you feel like God can't use you - remember He looks at your heart!

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

Prayer:   Dear God, help me to keep my heart pure towards you.  It doesn't matter to me what the world sees.  What matters is what YOU SEE in me.  I love you and want to live for you.  Help me each day to walk this life with you and be faithful to do what you ask of me.    I love you!   Amen.
