READ: Psalm 139:7-12 I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night -- but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
During the winter of 2017 when it was cold we left our Labradoodle, Molly, come into our home. However, her coming inside kept going right into spring, through summer and fall, and now this winter - she has absolutely no intention of sleeping out ever again! (I think she wonders why it took 9 years for us to let her in). I really don't mind that she's inside, because she stays in the hallway and kitchen and doesn't go into our the carpeted parts of our home. (She sheds so I'm grateful she listens).
I have noticed since she is inside that she really likes her mama. She sticks by me all day long and I MEAN BY CLOSE BY ME. When I leave the room - she waits patiently for me to come back... never taking her eyes off of me. If I get up to answer the phone or fold laundry ... she gets up and goes with me.
Her behavior really got me thinking about my heavenly father. Now I know that the LOVE of our Heavenly Father really can't compare to the love and loyalty of my dog :) (although she's nearly perfect!!) haha!
But there is absolutely no where that I can go that my Father does not go with me. Remember how he was in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego?
I have found that He is with me on the mountaintop, in the valley, in my joys, and in my deepest and darkest despair. He's with me when I'm alone and afraid. He's whispers to me that he won't leave me or forsake me. He's with me when I cry and He is the one to wipe my cheeks and place his kiss on my head.
There may be times when I feel like my friends or even my family are not near me or do not understand what I face. *BUT* My Father does. This knowledge has brought me comfort many many times throughout my life.
Everything that He is to me, everything I just described, He wants to be to you too. He is no respecter of persons - He loves us ALL and will always be with you. There is NO WHERE that you can ever go that can escape the presence of THE KING.
