"I Am Making All Things New Again"

READ:   Isaiah 43:19 For I am about to do something new.  See, I have already begun!  Do you not see it?   I will make a pathway through the wilderness.  I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

If you have been following these devotions each day this week you know that we have watched Jesus from the triumphant procession to the cross.   Today we celebrate - not his death but what his death will bring.   SOMETHING NEW!    After today - nothing is ever the same again!!!

What is New?

  •  RESTORED RELATIONSHIP - Jesus' death on the cross made a way for us to have a right relationship with God the Father through the forgiveness of our sins.  Prior to Jesus' death - we could have never been totally forgiven....we could have never been made righteous.   Because of Jesus we are restored to a right relationship with God.   Our sins are forgiven past, present, and future.

  • YOU ARE RENAMED - We see in the Bible the renaming of people.   For example in the old Testament - Abram (high father) to Abraham (father of a multitude) and Sarai (princess) to Sarah (mother of nations).  Names carried significance.   They meant something.    When you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life - you are given a new name.   1 Peter 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."  You are called His Child - you belong to Him.

  • YOU HAVE RESURRECTION POWER - Just as Jesus was resurrected to life 3 days later.  You have resurrection life on the inside of you. The bible tells us in Romans 8:11 that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you - you now have resurrection power inside of you!      That is power to walk this Christian life out each and every day.   To take this one step further - you will not live, die, and wind up in the grave - your spirit will live on and on and on in eternity with Jesus!

Whatever happens, whatever you see,
Whatever your eyes tell you has become of me
This is not
Not the end
I am making all things new again
