Death - Where is Your Victory?

READ:  1 Corinthians 15:55-57

"O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

In our lives we experience the "sting" of death every time that we sin.   We may say the wrong things, think the wrong things, rebel against God - these things are the sins that lead to death and they certainly sting (harder than a bee for sure!).

Paul tells us though in 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 that for the believer in Jesus - the sting of sin and the victory of death is gone.    What Jesus did for us on the cross, and the battle he waged over sin and the grave CHANGED EVERYTHING!!!   Jesus came to set us free from the power of sin and death over our lives and the one that the Son sets free is free indeed!!

Last Friday my husband's mother passed from this life onto the next.  Death still affects us in that we miss our loved ones that go on before us.  But for the believer in Jesus, death is not something to be feared. Death is not the end.  It is not final, and it certainly doesn't have the last say in our lives.    We are spiritual beings much more than physical and we will live on forever and ever and ever.......

When your day comes and you switch residencies - where will you be?    Some people don't believe that hell is a real place, and even the Pope it seems has declared this outlandish lie.   Hell is very much as real as heaven is.   Just ask the rich man who was sent to hell in Luke, chapter 6.    He said, "have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire."       Hell is very real and for those who don't live for Jesus - that is their future home.

Make sure you know where your home will be.... make sure today!

I am the resurrection and the life.  Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.

Do you believe this??    John 11:25-26 (spoken by Jesus)
