Come And Meet With Me

READ:  Mark 1:35-39 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.  And Simon and those who were with him searched for him,  and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.

We see in scripture several times where Jesus departed away from the busy crowds of people to be alone with the father.  He went to desolate places and he prayed.  I believe these were special times between Jesus and The Father. Times where he gathered strength, rest, and prayed.

We live in a FAST PACED world.   Our ancestors would be amazed at the speed of our world.  We place burdens on us that they just didn't have.  We even carry phones on us so we can be reached at anytime.  Many of us even carry them to the bathroom.  (LOL).  We have to be entertained or we feel bored!   I have read that in a 65-year lifespan the average American spends NINE YEARS watching television and American children spend more time watching television than ANY OTHER ACTIVITY besides sleeping!!     The average American adult spends 2 1/2 hours a day on their smart phone!!

But to truly hear from God we need to spend time with him.... alone time with Him.    Even Jesus knew how important this was and he set the example for us.

Luke 5:16 "But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed."

Jesus wants a relationship with us, but he is waiting for us to stop being so "busy" and to spend quiet time alone with him.   Today (and everyday) make it a priority to spend time with Jesus.   One on one time with Him will be time that you find rest, solitary peace, strength, direction, the Father's LOVE for you, and so much more.
