You Don't Walk Alone

READ:  Psalm 119:105-106  Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.

This past week we watched as our youngest son graduated from high school.   As I sat and watched all 266 seniors as they walked across the stage, I thought about all that life would hold for them. Some were heading to college close to home, some were going to college far off, some were entering the workforce, and about 12 were honored with a standing ovation for joining our United States Military to serve our country.

I thought about how many of them would get married and become parents in the next few years.   They sat on the stage, being honored by their families and school leaders, and yet life is an open slate before them.  It will be filled with joyful celebrations, and heartaches, births and deaths, immense happiness and yet deep sorrows.     It's all just part of this walk that we take called LIFE.

The only thing that is FOR CERTAIN in their futures is Jesus who remains the same yesterday, today and forever.   The Bible tells us that Jesus never changes like shifting shadows.  We can be certain that no matter what we face - just like that stage full of seniors in their maroon robes waiting to face their future head on, we face it not alone.  We hold to Jesus and He holds to us.   That is a comfort!

Today, remember that you are NOT ALONE.  The God of the universe - the creator of the heavens and the earth is with you.    We are promised that His Word will be as a lamp for our feet and a light for our path.    Hold onto Him, because He is holding onto you.  AND Remember:  You Do Not Walk Through Life Alone.
