Send Me

Bible Reading:  Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people?  Who will go for us?"

I said, "Here I am.  Send me".

In Isaiah the sixth chapter we read about a vision that Isaiah had of  the LORD God on his throne.  Isaiah thought life was over for him.  He thought he was doomed because the Glory of God had revealed to him the sinful man that he himself was.   He said that he had filthy lips and lived among filthy people.   A seraphim flew to him with a hot coal and purified His lips.  Then Isaiah heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to my people? Who will go for us?"   Isaiah's response was, "Here I am.  Send me."

God will never make us do anything.   He does not coerce us into serving Him.   He has a plan for our lives and the deeper we know Him the more the plan becomes clear.    The choice is still ours to make though.   If we don't do what God is asking, we won't lose our salvation, but we could lose the blessing that He has for us in that plan.

Maybe God's plan for your life is to be a missionary to a far away country.  OR Maybe His plan for you is to stay right where you are and witness to the lady in the grocery store check out line.  Maybe you are to volunteer at the hospital and pray with those in need.  Maybe you are to stay right where you are and be that light to those around you.

Maybe you knew what God wanted you to do at one time and you chose your own way.   The good news, actually great news, is that God is like a GPS - he can re-route you no matter how many years have gone by. As long as you are living and breathing - there is a God given plan and purpose for your life.

Today:  Pray for a deeper revelation into the plan that Jesus has for your life.    And then say, "HERE I AM.  SEND ME."
